In this paper the authors consider the elliptic problem \[ -\Delta u+mu=g(x,u)+f(x), x\in\Omega \] subject to the conditions \[ u=h\text{, }x\in\partial\Omega \] and \[ u\to 0\text{, as }|x|\to+\infty. \] In this case it is assumed that \(\Omega\subseteq\mathbb{R}^{N}\) with \(N\geq3\), with \(\Omega\) a smooth domain. The authors make a number of structure assumptions regarding the maps present in the above PDE. In particular, it is assumed that \(f\) is radial in the sense that \(f(x)=f(|x|)\) for each \(x\in\Omega\). Furthermore, \(x\mapsto g(x,\cdot)\) is assumed to be odd for each \(x\in\overline{\Omega}\). It is also assumed that the partial map \(s\mapsto g(\cdot,s)\) is radial insofar as \(g(x,s)=g(|x|,s)\), for each \(s\in\mathbb{R}\) and \(x\in\Omega\). It is also assumed that \(g\) satisfies some other growth behavior, too numerous to list here. Moreover, due to the structure imposed on \(h\), it is actually the case that the authors are able to consider the above PDE in case \(h\) is replaced by the number \(\xi\) -- i.e., \(h(x)\equiv\xi\) on \(\partial\Omega\). Existence results are then considered for this PDE in case \(\Omega=\mathbb{R}^{N}\setminus\overline{\mathcal{B}_R}\). These results are too numerous to list here, but, for example, we mention that a typical result is that if \(m>0\), \(\xi\in\mathbb{R}\), \(f\in L^{\frac{\mu}{\mu-1}}(\Omega)\cap L^2(\Omega)\), and \(g\in\mathcal{C}\left(\overline{\Omega}\times\mathbb{R}\right)\), then the PDE has infinitely many weak radial solutions provided that \(2<\mu\leq p<2^*\) and \(N\geq6\). Several other similar existence results are provided.
