Estimates of invariant metrics on pseudoconvex domains near boundaries with constant Levi ranks (Q471984): Difference between revisions

The author estimates the Bergman kernel and both the Bergman and the Kobayashi metrics on bounded pseudoconvex domains of \(\mathbb C^n\) in the boundary points where the Levi form has constant rank \(r\) in a neighborhood, \(0\leq r\leq n-1\). To obtain these estimates he uses \textit{D. W. Catlin}'s idea [Math. Z. 200, No. 3, 429--466 (1989; Zbl 0661.32030)] to construct plurisubharmonic functions whose complex Hessians blow up at the rate of \(1/\delta(z)\) and, in the complex normal direction, at a rate of \(|L_{\delta}(z,X)|/\delta(z)\), where \(\delta\) is the Euclidean distance to the boundary and \(L_{\delta}\) is the Levi form. To obtain the estimate of the Kobayashi metric, the Sibony metric is used.
