The authors study a system that consists of a chaotic nonlinear oscillator coupled to a linear wave equation in \(3D\) space, with small coupling constant. It is shown that if the wave has infinite energy, then the energy can transfer from the field to the oscillator. The energy of the oscillator growths and at finite time can reach any given level.
