The author [J. Pure Appl. Algebra 216, No. 7, 1652--1666 (2012; Zbl 1255.55001)] sketched an algorithm which computes the Nielsen number of a self-map of an aspherical finite polyhedron which has the homotopy type of the figure-eight. Here, he provides an extensive and complete description of this algorithm (called the WYK algorithm) as well as some examples.
