The authors study the existence of nonincreasing solutions to the following functional integral equation \[ x(t)=f(t,x(t))+g\left(t, (Ax)(t),\int\limits_{0}^{\infty} u(t,s,x(s))ds\right), \quad t\in \mathbb{R}_{+}=[0,\infty). \] A technique associated with measures of weak noncompactness and measures of noncompactness in strong sense is used to prove an existence result for a functional integral equation with Carathéodory perturbed. The investigations take place in the space \(L^1(\mathbb{R}_{+})\), \(\mathbb{R}_{+}:=[0,\infty)\). An example is also discussed to indicate the natural realizations of the obtained abstract result.
