Given a bounded sequence \(v=\{v(n)\}_{n\in {\mathbb{Z}}}\) and \(\lambda \in \mathbb{R}\), the discrete Schrödinger operator \(H_{\lambda,v}\) on \(l^2(\mathbb{Z})\) is defined to be \((H_{\lambda, v} \psi) (n) =\psi(n+1)+\psi(n-1)+\lambda v(n)\psi(n)\). When \(v\) is periodic, it was shown in [\textit{R. Carmona} and \textit{J. Lacroix}, Spectral theory of random Schrödinger operators. Basel etc.: Birkhäuser Verlag (1990; Zbl 0717.60074)] that the spectrum \(\sigma(H_{\lambda, v})\) of \(H_{\lambda, v}\) is a finite union of compact intervals and has positive Lebesgue measure. When \(v\) is generated by an invertible primitive substitution, it was shown in [the first author et al., Adv. Math. 257, 285--336 (2014; Zbl 1294.28008)] that the Hausdorff dimension of \(\sigma(H_{\lambda,v})\) is convergent to \(0\) as \(|\lambda| \to \infty\). In this paper, the authors show that when \(v\) is obtained by the Thue-Morse substitution, the Hausdorff dimension of \(\sigma(H_{\lambda,v})\) is no less than \(\frac{{\mathrm ln}2}{140{\mathrm ln}2.1}\) for all \(\lambda\). The proof is obtained by analysing the convergence behavior of the trace polynomials associated with the Thue-Morse Hamiltonian.
