The paper is concerned with fractional relaxation and fractional oscillation equations involving Erdélyi-Kober integrals. The equations can be understood as equations with time- varying coefficients. The authors replace Riemann-Liouville integrals with Erdélyi-Kober-type integrals in certain fractional oscillation models to obtain some more general integro-differential equations. The authors show that the corresponding Cauchy-type problems can be solved numerically, and, in some cases analytically, in terms of Saigo-Kilbas Mittag-Leffler functions. A numerical approach is developed, based on previous approaches used by other authors to solve multi-term fractional differential equations. The paper concludes with some work applying the methods to a damped fractional oscillator problem.
