This paper establishes three factorization results for injective maps with zero-dimensional domains. For each natural number~\(n\) there is a separable zero-dimensional space for which there is a continuous injection into \(\mathbb{R}^n\) but not into \(\mathbb{R}^{n-1}\). If a zero-dimensional space admits a continuous injection into the real line then it also admits such a map into the Cantor set. The main result states that a continuous bijection from a zero-dimensional space to a GO-space with a \(\sigma\)-disjoint \(\pi\)-base factors through a zero-dimensional GO-space of the same weight as the codomain. Two questions ask whether the \(\pi\)-base condition is necessary and whether the result also holds when `GO-space' is replaced by `LOTS' in the assumption and conclusion.
