The author discusses recent results on the regularity of solutions of the three-dimensional Navier-Stokes system obtained under assumptions on partial regularity of one component of the velocity. Then, an improvement of such a regularity criterion (due to \textit{Y. Zhou} and \textit{M. Pokorný} [Nonlinearity 23, No. 5, 1097--1107 (2010; Zbl 1190.35179)]) is shown, using an anisotropic Sobolev inequality.
