    L'objet d'étude de cet article est l'espace des modules des courbes trigonales~\(\mathcal{T}_{g}\) et la stratification de cet espace par l'invariant de Maroni. La courbe universelle au dessus de \(\mathcal{T}_{g}\) a une structure de fibré vectoriel pour le groupe des homéomorphismes (préservants l'orientation) d'une surface de Riemann de genre \(g\). Cela induit une application de monodromie \(\pi_{1}(\mathcal{T}_{g},x_{0})\to\pi_{0}(\mathcal{H}omeo_{g})\). Les auteurs montrent que cette application est surjective. Cela doit être comparé au cas de l'espace des modules des courbes hyperelliptiques où l'application de monodromie n'est pas surjective. De plus, les auteurs étudient le groupe fondamental des strates \(\mathcal{T}_{g}^{M}\), où~\(M\) est un invariant de Maroni. Si~\(M\) n'est pas maximal, alors les auteurs montrent que l'inclusion de la strate dans l'espace total induit une surjection \(\pi_{1}(\mathcal{T}_{g}^{M},x_{0})\to\pi_{1}(\mathcal{T}_{g},x_{0})\) dont le noyau est isomorphe à \(\mathbb{Z}/(M)\) (si \(g>4\)). Dans le cas où \(M\) est maximal, les auteurs obtiennent une présentation du groupe fondamental de \(\mathcal{T}_{g}^{M}\). Il est a noter que ce groupe est le quotient d'un groupe de tresses généralisé.
