A locally compact group \(G\) is determined by the group Banach algebra \(L^1(G)\), that is, if \(L^1(G_1) \cong L^1(G_2)\) as Banach algebras, with an isometric isomorphism, then \(G_1 \cong G_2\) as topological groups. Similarly, \(G\) is determined uniquely by its measure algebra, by the bidual algebra of \(L^1(G)\), or by the dual convolution algebra of the space of left uniformly continuous functions. A weight on a locally compact group is a function that is continuous, strictly positive, submultiplicative and normalised. A Beurling algebra is a weighted analogue of the \(L^1\)-algebra. This paper shows that an isometric isomorphism between the weighted \(L^1\)-algebras implies an isomorphism between the underlying weighted locally compact groups, that is, a weight-preserving isomorphism of topological groups. Similar results for the weighted measure algebra, the dual of weighted LUC-functions, and the bidual of the weighted \(L^1\)-algebra are proved as well. The isometric isomorphisms between the weighted group algebras \(L^1(G_1,w_1)\) and \(L^1(G_2,w_2)\) are described explicitly, using an isomorphism of weighted locally compact groups and pointwise multiplication by a character. The other convolution algebras are treated by reduction to this case. In particular, the weighted measure algebra is shown to be the multiplier algebra of \(L^1(G,w)\).
