A note on isoperimetric inequalities for logarithmic potentials (Q5964422): Difference between revisions

\textit{M. Ruzhansky} and \textit{D. Suragan} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 434, No. 2, 1676--1689 (2016; Zbl 1330.47063)] conjectured that, for any integer \(p\), the maximizer of Schatten \(p\)-norms of the logarithmic potential over all convex \(n\)-gons of a given area is the regular \(n\)-gon. They provided supporting evidence for this conjecture in the case of triangles. The present paper provides further supporting evidence by investigating logarithmic potentials over rectangles, and Newtonian potentials over rectangular parallelepipeds in \(\mathbb R^3\).
