Let \(T:C\rightarrow C\) be a monotone nonexpansive mapping, where \(C\subset L_{1}[0,1]\) is nonempty, convex and compact in the topology of convergence in measure. The main result of the paper under review asserts that the iteration sequence \[ f_{n+1}=\lambda f_{n}+(1-\lambda )Tf_{n},\;f_{0}\in C,\quad\lambda \in (0,1), \] converges almost everywhere to a fixed point of \(T\) provided that \(f_{0}\leq Tf_{0}\).
