The paper deals with the numerical solution of hyperbolic problem using a finite volume scheme with a linear reconstruction. The authors present a new formulation for linear reconstruction on unstructured grids, which integrates the prediction of the gradient and the limiter together. By solving on each cell a tiny linear programming problem without any parameters, the gradient is directly obtained which satisfies the monotonicity condition. The local maximum principle for the proposed numerical scheme is proved. Several numerical experiments for standard benchmarks (including also non-trivial examples) are presented.
