The authors first study some properties of subadditive separating maps between \(C(X,E)\) and \(C(Y,E)\), where \(X,Y\) are compact Hausdorff spaces, and \(E\) is a unital Banach algebra. Then, they prove a fixed point theorem for a strongly subadditive map. An application to a nonlinear integral equation is included. The paper complements and generalizes earlier results by \textit{E. Beckenstein} and \textit{L. Narici} [Acta Math. Hung. 88, No. 1--2, 147--167 (2000; Zbl 0963.46030)], and \textit{F. Sady} and \textit{Y. Estaremi} [Bull. Korean Math. Soc. 44, No. 4, 753--761 (2007; Zbl 1146.46025)].
