This third paper of the series continues the author's study of the representation theory and homological properties of Khovanov-Lauda-Rouquier (KLR) algebras, now in the case when the underlying Lie algebra is of symmetric affine type. The main result of the paper is a construction, for each convex order on the set of positive roots satisfying a certain convexity property, of proper standard and standard modules and the proof that these categorify the dual PBW and PBW bases, respectively. The proper standard modules have a unique simple top which gives a classification of all simple modules and the standard modules have usual homological properties leading to a BGG reciprocity theorem. As a consequence, it is shown that, when an element of the canonical basis is expanded in a PBW basis, the coefficients that appear are polynomials non-negative coefficients and the transition matrix is unitriangular.
