The authors study the phase retrieval problem for the fractional Fourier transform. They focus on the (non)uniqueness aspects of a generalization of Pauli's problem. The obtained results imply that the approximate phase retrieval problem for the fractional Fourier transform has infinitely many solutions that are far from multiples of one another.
