Bifurcations from the orbit of solutions of the Neumann problem (Q1703148): Difference between revisions

In this paper, the authors study the existence of weak solutions of a nonlinear Neumann problem on a ball. Assuming that the potential is invariant, they consider an orbit of critical points. They apply techniques of equivariant analysis to examine bifurcations from the orbits of trivial solutions. The authors obtain sufficient conditions for local and global bifurcations, in terms of the right-hand side of the system and eigenvalues of the Laplace operator. They characterize orbits at which global symmetry breaking phenomena occur.
