Cartan-Lie algebroids are Lie algebroids equipped with a compatible connection. On this class of algebroids it is possible to define an adjoint representation on the fiber and also on the tangent of the base. The authors introduce the notion of (positive) quadratic Lie algebroids, that is, Cartan-Lie algebroids with adjoint invariant (Riemannian) metrics on their fibers and base \((\kappa,g)\). They determine the necessary and sufficient conditions for a positive quadratic Lie algebroid to integrate to a Riemannian Cartan-Lie groupoid.
