Let \(X\) denote a Banach space with a Schauder basis \(\{e_n\}\). When the Schauder basis is boundedly complete (i.e., \(\sup_n\|\sum_{i\leq n} t_ie_i\|<+\infty\Rightarrow \sum^\infty_{i=1} t_ie_i\in X\)), the Banach space \(X\) is isomorphic to a dual space \(Z^*\), where \(Z\) is the closed subspace spanned by the biorthogonal functionals \(\{e^*_n\}\) in \(X^*\). In the present paper, the authors define the concept of a near-infinity concentrated norm on such spaces and prove the following results: Let \(X\) be a Banach space with a boundedly complete Schauder basis and let \(|||\cdot|||\) be a near-infinity concentrated norm on \(X\). (1) Then every nonexpansive self-map on a closed bounded convex subset of \(X\) has a fixed point (\(X\) has the FPP, in short). (2) If \(\|\cdot\|\) is an equivalent norm which is a sequentially separating and premonotone, then there exists \(r_0>0\) such that the spaces \((X,|||\cdot|||+ r\|\cdot\|)\) have the FPP for every \(0\leq r\leq r_0\).
