Let $X$ be a smooth toric variety defined over an algebraically closed field of characteristic $p>0$. The author proves that the projectiviation of the tangent bundle of $X$ is Frobenius split. This theorem implies by Lemma $1.1.11$ of \textit{M. Brion} and \textit{S. Kumar} [Frobenius splitting methods in geometry and representation theory. Boston, MA: Birkhäuser (2005; Zbl 1072.14066)] that the cotangent bundle of $X$ is also Frobenius split. Let $S$ be a del Pezzo surface of degree $6$ over an algebraically closed field of characteristic $2$ and let $P$ be a point of $S$. Then it is proven by using the above result that the cotangent bundle of the blow-up of $S$ at $P$ is Frobenius split if and only if $P$ is a fixed point of $S$ under the torus action. Combining this proposition with Lemma $8.9$ of \textit{P. Achinger} et al. [J. Algebr. Geom. 26, No. 4, 603--654 (2017; Zbl 1373.14045)], the author gives an example of a smooth Frobenius split variety whose the cotangent bundle is not Frobenius split.
