This paper provides an excellent generalization of the fractional derivatives and integrals in the sense of conformable fractional calculus. The authors propose a new version of conformable fractional derivatives. The conformable fractional derivative was first introduced by \textit{R. Khalil} et al. [J. Comput. Appl. Math. 264, 65--70 (2014; Zbl 1297.26013)] to provide a new, local, and limit-based definition of fractional derivative which coincides with the standard derivative. The authors' new definition of a conformable fractional derivative (CFD) of \(f\) of order \(0< \alpha \leq 1\) satisfies the standard conformable fractional derivatives properties, but multiple representations exist for the CFD of \(f\) which means an infinite number of CFDs for each unique definition. As a result, the authors introduce an extended version of the new proposed definition of CFDs to combine all representations into one definition. Several applications can be studied using the extended version of CFDs such as impulsive differential equations. The second part of this paper provides a more detailed study of stability, disconjugacy, solvability, oscillation, and upper bound estimation for the number of zeros arising from the nontrivial solutions for fractional linear dynamical systems FLDS. The study provides a good example of using CFD properties, such as Leibniz rule, to find the periodic and non-periodic Lyapunov inequalities for FLDS. Using all these results with the new version of extended CFDs, the paper provides a great description of the qualitative behavior (dynamics) of nontrivial solutions for the FLDS.
