In this paper, the authors give a new proof of the determinant formula for the standard integral form of the lattice vertex operator algebra. More specifically, let \(L\) be a positive definite even lattice with the form \(\left<\cdot,\cdot\right>\) and \(V_L\) the corresponding lattice vertex operator algebra. Next, let \((V_L)_{\mathbb{Z}}\) be the standard integral form in \(V_L\). Recall that \((V_L)_{\mathbb{Z}}\) is a vertex operator algebra over \(\mathbb{Z}\) and that, as a free \(\mathbb{Z}\)-module, it satisfies \(V_L =\mathbb{C}\otimes_{\mathbb{Z}} (V_L)_{\mathbb{Z}}\). For any \(n\ge 0\) denote by \(\mathcal{A}(n)\) the set of all sequences of nonnegative integers \((a_i)\) such that \(\sum_{i\ge 1} ia_i =n\). Finally, introduce the numbers \[ S(k,n)=\frac{1}{k}\sum_{(a_i)\in \mathcal{A}(n)} \prod_{i=1}^n a_i \binom{a_i+k-1}{k-1}. \] The authors prove that for all \(n\ge 0\) we have the determinant formula \[ \left|\det ((V_L)_{\mathbb{Z},n})\right|=\prod_{m=0}^n \det (L)^{\left|L_{2m}\right|2 S(k,n-m)}, \] where \((V_L)_{\mathbb{Z},n}\) consists of all vectors in \((V_L)_{\mathbb{Z}}\) of weight \(n\) and \(L_{2m}=\left\{\alpha\in L\,:\, \left<\alpha,\alpha\right>=2m\right\}\).
