Several variants of hypercyclicity of operators between Banach spaces have been investigated during last years. For instance, \textit{F. Bayart} and \textit{S. Grivaux} introduced the notion of frequent hypercyclicity in [C. R., Math., Acad. Sci. Paris 338, No. 9, 703--708 (2004; Zbl 1059.47006)] and the notion of \(\mathcal{U}\)-frequent hypercyclicity was introduced by \textit{S. Shkarin} [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 137, No. 1, 123--134 (2009; Zbl 1161.47007)]. Bayart and Grivaux posed the question of determining if the inverse of a frequently hypercyclic operator is still frequently hypercyclic. This question is also open for \(\mathcal{U}\)-frequently hypercyclic operators and was posed explicitly by \textit{K.-G. Grosse-Erdmann} [Glasg. Math. J. 61, No. 2, 271--286 (2019; Zbl 07114290)]. The author shows that there exists an invertible \(\mathcal{U}\)-frequently hypercyclic operator whose inverse is not \(\mathcal{U}\)-frequently hypercyclic. He considers operators of \(C\)-type which was introduced and studied by himself in [Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 369, No. 7, 4977--4994 (2017; Zbl 1454.47014)].
