In this short and relatively technical paper the author considered a question, that is Question 1 raised by Chan-Ho Kim in a private communication. The problem asked for which proper ideals \(I\) of the group ring \(\mathbb{Z}_p[G]\), where \(G\) is a finite abelian \(p\)-group for an arbitrary but fixed prime \(p\), the following implication will hold, namely: If \(a\in \mathbb{Z}_p[G]\) such that \(\chi(a)\in \chi(I)\) for all \(p\)-adic characters \(\chi\) of \(G\), then \(a\in I\)? The main result of the reviewed paper is Theorem 4, which gives complete answer to Question 1 for a cyclic \(p\)-group \(G\).
