This paper deals with dynamic decouplability and dynamic path controllability for linear as well as nonlinear discrete-time systems. A system is called dynamic decouplable if there exists a dynamic feedback (compensator) such that in the closed-loop system every input (instrument) only affects one output (target variable), and dynamic path controllable if, from some future time on, every target trajectory can be achieved by a proper choice of the instruments. Based on earlier work it is observed that both properties are equivalent, yielding the main result that the constructive algorithm for dynamic decoupling as developed by the author can be also used for dynamic path controllability.
