Let \(B\) be the unit ball in \(\mathbb C ^n\) and \(\phi \) a smooth function on the boundary of \(B\). The authors study the Dirichlet problem for the complex Monge-Ampère equation \[ \det (u_{j\bar{k}} )= F/|z|^{2a} \] with \(F\) smooth in the closure of \(B\), \(0 <a <n \), and \(\phi\) as the boundary data. They prove that the solution \(u\) is smooth away from the origin and belongs to the Hölder space \(C^{\gamma } (B)\) for any \(\gamma <\frac{2(n-a)}{2n-a} \). The result is motivated by the continuity method of \textit{G. La Nave} and \textit{G. Tian} [Math. Ann. 365, No. 3--4, 911--921 (2016; Zbl 1351.53085)], where at a singular time the singularity as in the equation above may occur.
