This article deals with a class of rank-metric codes generalizing twisted Gabidulin codes introduced by \textit{J. Sheekey} [Adv. Math. Commun. 10, No. 3, 475--488 (2016; Zbl 1348.94087)]. In particular, the author analyzes the action of the group of rank isometries of the space of linearized polynomials \[\mathcal L_{n,q}[x]:=\left\{\sum_{i=0}^{n-1} f_i x^{q^i} \, \colon \, f_i \in \mathbb F_{q^n} \right\} \] on these codes. This implies results on their equivalences and their automorphism groups, generalizing those on twisted Gabidulin codes given by \textit{G. Lunardon} et al. [J. Comb. Theory, Ser. A 159, 79--106 (2018; Zbl 1427.94105)].
