For a given non-zero integer \(D\) the author describes a method to determine all monic quartic polynomials \(x^4+ax^3+bx^2+cx+d\) of discriminant \(D\). The method uses the theory of integral points on elliptic curves, especially of Mordell curves. Based on explicit computations the author lists among others all possible \(D\) with \(-1000\le D\le 1000\) for which there are polynomials of discriminant \(D\).\par The algorithm to determine polynomials of discriminant \(D\) strongly depends on being able to solve the corresponding equations of Mordell type. Although this task is not at all trivial, there is no reference how to do that, it seems that the solutions are taken from existing tables. As a related problem, remark that formerly algorithms were given to determine quartic fields of given discriminants, see e.g. \textit{J. Buchmann} et al. [Math. Comput. 61, No. 204, 873--879 (1993; Zbl 0788.11060)].
