    Symbols of pseudodifferential operators are usually smooth functions. Operators with non-smooth symbols are studied by different authors, [\textit{H. Abels}, Commun. Partial Differ. Equations 30, No. 10--12, 1463--1503 (2005; Zbl 1087.35099); \textit{J. Aleksić} et al., J. Pseudo-Differ. Oper. Appl. 9, No. 3, 615--641 (2018; Zbl 1408.46042); \textit{I. Ivec} and \textit{I. Vojnović}, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 495, No. 1, Article ID 124717, 17 p. (2021; Zbl 1459.35009); \textit{H. Kumano-Go} and \textit{M. Nagase}, Funkc. Ekvacioj, Ser. Int. 21, 151--192 (1978; Zbl 0395.35089); \textit{J. Marschall}, Commun. Partial Differ. Equations 12, 921--965 (1987; Zbl 0621.47048)]. The authors are interested in operators whose symbols \(\sigma \) satisfy \[ (\forall x \in \mathbb{R}^d) (\forall \xi \in \mathbb{R}^d) \quad |\partial _x ^\alpha \partial _\xi ^\beta \sigma (x, \xi) | \leq C_{\alpha,\beta } \langle \xi \rangle ^{m - \rho|\beta| + \delta |\alpha|}, \quad |\alpha| \leq N, |\beta| \leq N' \] or \[ (\forall x \in \mathbb{R}^d) (\forall \xi \in \mathbb{R}^d) \quad |\partial _x ^\alpha \partial _\xi ^\beta \sigma (x, \xi) | \leq C_{\alpha,\beta } \langle x \rangle ^{q - |\alpha|} \langle \xi \rangle ^{m - \rho|\beta| + \delta |\alpha|}, \quad |\alpha| \leq N, |\beta| \leq N', \] denoted by \( S^m _{\rho, \delta,N, N'} \) and \( \dot{S}^{q,m} _{\rho, \delta,N, N'} \) respectively. The former is usually used in connection with Sobolev type spaces, while the latter is more appropriate when dealing with Hörmander spaces. The authors provide a detailed analysis related to the continuity of pseudodifferential operators, oscillatory integrals and operators with double symbols (given in separate sections). In the last section a result on composition and adjoints of pseudodifferential operators with nonsmooth symbols is proved.
