Throughout, let \(S\) b a commutative semigroup with zero element \(0\) whose operation is written multiplicatively, and let \(Z(S)^*\) be the set of all nonzero zero-divisors of \(S\). The annihilator graph \(\mathcal{AG}(S)\) of \(S\) is defined on the vertex set \(Z(S)^*\) and two distinct vertices \(u\) and \(v\) are adjacent if and only if \(\mathrm{ann}_S(uv) \not=\mathrm{ann}_S(u) \cup\mathrm{ann}_S(v)\), where \(\mathrm{ann}_S(u) = \{w\in S\mid uw=0\}\). Suppose that the zero-divisor graph of a commutative semigroup \(S\) is a complete graph with an end vertex, which is studied in reference [\textit{T. Wu} and \textit{F. Cheng}, Semigroup Forum 76, No. 2, 330--340 (2008; Zbl 1175.20051)] cited in the paper. In this paper, the authors determine the structure of the annihilator graph of \(S\) and in particular, show that if \(Z(S) = S\), then the annihilator graph of \(S\) is a disconnected graph.
