Let \(F\) denote a Banach space. Notation and definitions for the review are as in \textit{A. Grothendieck} [Produits tensoriels topologique et espaces nucleaire, Mem. Am. Math. Soc. 16 (1955; Zbl 0064.355) and Résumé de la theorie metrique des produits tensoriels topologiques, Bol. Mat. Soc. Sao Paulo 8, 1-79 (1956; Zbl 0074.323)]. The authors show that \(E\otimes_ \varepsilon F\) is a(DF)-space whenever \(E\) is a (DF)- space if and only if \(F\) is an \({\mathcal L}_ \infty\)-space [see \textit{J. Lindenstrauss} and \textit{A. Pełczyński}, Stud. Math. 29, 275-326 (1968; Zbl 0183.405)]. In the proof they use a result of \textit{J. Taskinen} [Ann. Acad. Sci. Fenn., Ser. A 1, Diss. 63, 25 p. (1986; Zbl 0612.46069)], characterising Banach spaces which are not \({\mathcal L}_ 1\), which brings in, seemingly unnecessarily, inductive limits of reflexive (so that the limit is Hausdorff) Banach spaces with the approximation property.
