The author gives an example for the system of the form \[ \dot x(t)=A_ 0x(t)+B_ 0y(t)+A(x_ t)+B(y_ t),\quad \mu \dot y(t)=C_ 0x(t)+D_ 0y(t)+C(x_ t)+D(y_ t) \] with solutions whose asymptotic rates for small \(\mu >0\) are less than those of the reduced system \(\mu \dot y(t)=D_ 0y(t)+D(y_ t).\) Such a fact may occur only for systems containing distributed delays.
