The authors deal with a Zener-Stroh crack (a microcrack initiated by coalescing dislocations piled up near an inhomogeneity), a counterpart of the well-known Griffith crack in linear elastic fracture mechanics. The interaction between the crack and the coated inclusion leads to a set of singular integral equations which is solved numerically by Erdogan-Gupta method. The influence of several parameters (the distance between the crack and the inclusion, the material constants of fiber, coating layer and matrix) is put into evidence by considering a lot of examples. Numerical results are plotted into diagrams, thus justifying the presented method.
