The tangent bundle of a Calabi-Yau manifold. Deformations and restriction to rational curves (Q1908051): Difference between revisions

Let \(X\) be a Calabi-Yau threefold. It is known that the tangent bundle \(T_X\) is stable and it has a nontrivial restriction to any rational curve on \(X\). This note is dealing with the problem of finding a stable deformation of \(T_X \oplus {\mathcal O}_X\) with nontrivial restriction to any rational curve. Some positive results are obtained for the generic quintic threefold \(X \subset \mathbb{P}^4\) and for rational curves of low degree contained in \(X\).
