Let \(M:=G/K\) be a Hermitian symmetric space. The algebra of all invariant differential operators on \(M\) is a commutative algebra; the spherical functions are the invariant eigenfunctions. Let \(\widetilde D\) be the covariant Cauchy-Riemann operator and \(D\) the covariant holomorphic differential operator on a line bundle over \(M\). The author studies the Shimura invariant differential operators defined via \(\widetilde D\) and \(D\) and finds the eigenvalues of the associated family of the Shimura operators and of the generators; these eigenvalues were introduced by \textit{G. Shimura} [Duke Math. J. 76, No. 1, 141-173 (1994; Zbl 0829.11029)] and play an important role in the theory of automorphic forms.
