The authors use de Moivre groups of hyperbolic quasinumbers of volume one [\textit{A. K. Kwaśniewski}, and \textit{R. Czech}, Rep. Math. Phys. 31, No. 3, 341-351 (1992; Zbl 0848.17044)] to introduce systems of Chebyshev-like polynomials \(T_n\) of order \(m\in\mathbb{N}\), \(m\geq 2\). These are obtained by means of generalizations of the hyperbolic-trigonometric functions. The case \(m=2\) leads to the ordinary Chebychev polynomials. The authors study in details the case \(m=3\). Then, with \(\omega=e^{2i\pi/3}\), there exist three families \(T_n\), \(T_{n+\omega}\), \(T_{n+\omega^2}\), satisfying the curious recurrence relation \(T_{n+1}(x)= 3xT_n(x)-T_{n+\omega} (x)-T_{n+\omega^2}(x)\). Polynomials \(T_n\) turn out to be in two variables \(x\) and \(x^*\), while \(T_{n+\omega}\) \(T_{n+\omega^2}\) are in three variables \(x,x^*\) and \(x^{**}\). The generating functions of these polynomials are computed, and their connection with extensions of Lucas sequences outlined.
