It is well known that correlation functions in WZW conformal field theory satisfy the system of Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov equations. The solutions of KZ equations are naturally interpreted as horizontal sections of the bundle \(\widetilde {W}\) of coinvariants in the tensor product of finite- dimensional modules over a simple Lie algebra. Moreover, these correlation functions belong to an irreducible subbundle \(W\subset \widetilde {W}\) defined by some set of algebraic equations (bundle of conformal blocks). In the present paper for \({\mathfrak g}= {\mathfrak {sl}}_2\) the bundle \(W\) is explicitly identified with coinvariants of the tensor product of irreducible modules over the affine algebra \(\widehat {{\mathfrak {sl}}}_2\). Following this identification in terms of differential forms the authors prove that the solutions of KZ suggested by Schechtman and Varchenko belong to a bundle \(W\) of conformal blocks and thus present some correlation functions in WZW theory.
