A semigroup whose congruences form a chain with respect to inclusion is called a \(\Delta\)-semigroup. A semigroup is called weakly exponential if, for all elements \(x\) and \(y\) and every positive integer \(m\), there exists a positive integer \(n\) such that \((xy)^{m+n}=x^ ny^ n(xy)^ m=(xy)^ mx^ ny^ n\). The author describes the structure of weakly exponential \(\Delta\)-semigroups.
