On the fine structure of stationary measures in systems which contract-on-average (Q1866063): Difference between revisions

The object of this paper are iterated functions systems with probability weights, such that the mappings are Lipschitz and contract on average. The main result is an upper estimate of \(-H(\mu)/\chi\) for the Hausdorff dimension of the associated invariant (or stationary) measure \(\mu\), given in terms of the entropy \(H(\mu)\) and the Lyapunov exponent \(\chi\) of the system. This criterion is applied to show singularity of measures in several examples.
