The authors prove the representation theorem: A linear mapping on the space of skew-symmetric tensors is isotropic if and only if it is a multiple of the identity. This representation theorem fittes the needs of linear micropolar elasticity, and generalizes the representation theorem in the classical elasticity theory for isotropic linear stress-strain relations, of which the proof has been given by Gurtin, and Martins and Podio-Guidugli [e.g.: \textit{M. E. Gurtin}, ibid. 4, 243-245 (1974; Zbl 0288.73020)].
