    Consider the diophantine equation \(d_ 1 x^ 2+d_ 2 y^ 2=\delta z^ p\) subject to the following conditions: (1) \(d_ 1\), \(d_ 2\), \(d\) are positive integers with \(d=d_ 1 d_ 2\). (2) \(p\) is an odd prime larger than 3. (3) \((x,y)=1\), \(y=2^ m\), \(m\geq 0\), \(\delta=1\) or 4. (4) \(p\) does not divide the class number of the quadratic field \(\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{-d})\). (5) \(d_ 1+d_ 2\not\equiv 0\pmod 8\) when \(\delta=1\). The author proves that under these conditions this equation has no solution if either (1) \(p>8 000 000\) or (2) \(p>5\) and \(d\geq\exp\exp\exp 105\). The proof involves reducing the equation to the study of linear forms in the logarithms of two algebraic numbers and then applying some results of \textit{M. Mignotte} and \textit{M. Waldschmidt} [Ann. Fac. Sci. Toulouse, V. Ser., Math. 1989, Spec. Issue, 43-75 (1989; Zbl 0702.11044)] and \textit{A. Baker} [Philos. Trans. R. Soc. Lond., Ser. A 263, 173-191 (1968; Zbl 0157.097)].
