Let \(f : \mathbb {C}^2 \to \mathbb {C}^2\) be a holomorphic map such that the origin is an isolated Jordan fixed point (the differential at the origin is a \((2,2)\) Jordan matrix). In the preceding paper [Am. J. Math. 122, 757--781 (2000; Zbl 0966.32018)], the author gave a sufficient condition on \(f\) for the existence of an attractive basin. In the present article, he proves the existence of such a basin for some quadratic maps which do not satisfy the preceding condition. More precisely, it concerns the \(2\)-parameter family \(f_{\alpha,\beta}(z,w) = (z+w+\alpha z^2 + \beta w^2 , w+w^2)\), where the real part of \(\alpha\) is positive and \(\beta\) is a complex number. In a second part, the author describes the dynamics of \(f\) restricted to \(\mathbb {R}^2\), when the parameters \(\alpha\) and \(\beta\) are real.
