Let \(S_ q\) denote the set of entire functions f such that there exists a set \(\{a_ 1,...,a_ q\}\), depending on \(f_ 1\) such that all singularities of \(f^{-1}\) lie over the \(a_ i\). Any two entire functions g,h are called equivalent if there are homeomorphisms \(\phi,\psi\) of \({\mathbb{C}}\) such that \(\psi(f)=g(\phi)\). For \(f\in S_ q\setminus S_{q-1}\), \(q\geq 1\), the equivalence class \(M=M(f)\) to which f belongs is given a \((q+2)\)-dimensional complex analytic structure. A function \(g\in M\) is structurally stable if there is a neighbourhood U of g in M such that for any \(g_ 1\in U\) there is a homeomorphism \(\psi\) of \({\mathbb{C}}\) with \(\psi(g)=g_ 1(\psi)\). Suppose that \(f\in M\) has ''basis set'' \(\{a_ 1,...,a_ q\}\) as above. Denote by \(\Lambda\) the set of those f such that \(f^ k(a_ j)=f^{\ell}(a_ i)\) for some different pairs \((\ell,i),(k,j)\). The author's main result is that if N is the set of members of M which have a cycle of periodic points of eigenvalue 1, then \(M-(\bar N\cup \Lambda)=G\) is dense and open in M and any function in G is structurally stable. Moreover the conjugating homeomorphisms \(\psi\) are quasiconformal. The example \(M=\{a \exp (bz)+c\), \(a,b,c\) constants\} is considered in more detail.
