The purpose of the paper is to explore the possibility of extending generalized sampled-data hold functions to the control of linear time-invariant plants with unknown parameters. The certainty equivalence principle is used to combine the identification method with a control structure derived from the pole placement problem. The proposed technique has several advantages over known related methods and can be extended to other problems in adaptive control.
