The paper is concerned with a family of unimodal mappings of the form (1) \(F:(x,y)\mapsto (\lambda f(x))(g(y))^s,x)\). Here \(\lambda,s\) are parameters such that \(0<\lambda<1\) and \(s>0\). Under some natural conditions on \(f\) and \(g\), it is shown that there exist domains in the space parameters \(\lambda,s\) such that mappings of the form (1) have periodic points other than fixed points.
