Let \(R\) be a Dedekind domain and \(V\) a finitely generated torsion-free \(R\)-module. In this paper, the author studies nilpotent endomorphisms of \(V\). To each such nilpotent endomorphism \(L\) there is an associated canonical filtration and invariant ideals. The main result is that there is an ideal \(B_L\) depending on \(L\) and its invariant ideals so that if \(L'\) is another nilpotent endomorphism with the same invariant ideals, and \(L\) and \(L'\) are congruent modulo this ideal, then \(L\) and \(L'\) are similar.
