An improvement on the perturbation of the group inverse and oblique projection (Q5955647): Difference between revisions

The group inverse \(A^\#\) and the oblique projection \(AA^\#\) of a square matrix \(A\) are studied. New general upper bounds for \(\|B^\#\|\) and \(\|BB^\#\|\) are derived, where \(B=A+E\) (\(E\) is a perturbation matrix with the same dimension as \(A\)). New upper bounds are also developed for \(\|B^\#-A^\#\|/\|A^\#\|\) and \(\|BB^\#- AA^\#\|/\|AA^\#\|\). These upper bounds improve the results by \textit{Y. Wei} [Appl. Math. Comput. 98, No. 1, 29--42 (1999; Zbl 0927.15004)]. An example illustrates the results.
