A method for the derivation of closed-form formulas for the zeros of sectionally analytic functions in the complex plane is proposed. This method is based on the Cauchy theorem and the formulae contain only integrals along the discontinuity interval. As an application, the transcendental equation \(w=\tanh (pw+q)\) is solved in closed form.
