Let f be an entire function, \(f_ k\) its k-th iterate, and denote the number of fix-points of \(f_ k\) in \(| z| \leq r\) by \(n_ k(r)\). It is proved that if f has finite order \(\rho\) (f) and positive lower order and if \(k\geq 2\), then \[ \limsup_{r\to \infty}(\log_ kn_ k(r))/(\log r)=\rho (f). \] Here ``\(\leq ''\) follows immediately from Jensen's formula. The proof of ``\(\geq ''\) uses results from Wiman-Valiron theory [cf. \textit{G. Valiron}, Lectures on the general theory of integral functions, Toulouse 1923] and results on generalized orders of growth [cf. \textit{G. Jank} and \textit{L. Volkmann}, Meromorphe Funktionen und Differentialgleichungen (1985; Zbl 0682.30001)].
